LOVE IS......

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.  It does not insist on it's own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never ends. I Corinthians 13: 4-8

I thank God everyday for the wonderful, loving husband that he has given me.  I am truly blessed to have a husband who will do anything for me and our kids.  He is a true man of God and he strives to lead our family in the way of the Lord, and for this I am truly gratetful.  Words can not describe how much I love him.  I  hope God sees fit for us to share many more years together.  I LOVE you Chris.
Happy Valentine's Day Chris, you are my world!!!!

Hi-Ho Hi-Ho It's off to Granny's house we go!

Well Granny Franny volunteered to keep the kids tonight so Chris and I could go out to eat and spend sometime together for our Valentine's day since we both have to work Monday.  The kids were excited as they packed their bags to spend the night.  Aly and Jaysen are used to spending the night away.  They spend the night with Nan-Naw and Paw-Paw all the time.  They have also spent the night with Aunt Lele and a few of their friends before.  Poor Owen on the other hand has only spent the night away once in his entire 2 year old life.  I'm sure he will do fine, it's me I'm worried about.  I'm fine now but am sure it will hit me when I go to bed and he is not their to snuggle with.  Yes I am pathetic the other two were spending the night off with my parents when they were like 6 months old.  I guess it's just something about knowing he is the last child and the baby.  He is in good hands though.  He loves his Granny.  Well Chris is back in here so I must go. We are actually getting to watch movies that don't have cartoons in them for once.  Sorry no pictures tonight(I forgot to take one as they were getting into Granny's car) but I will post more later.
May God bless!

Monkey See Monkey Do!

Owen is quite the little parrot lately.  He repeats everything people say.  We have to be careful what we say around him, even things that seem harmless.  He is too funny, the class clown when he gets older?  He is in that stage of life where he is exploring everything and getting into EVERYTHING.  You take your eyes off of him for one minute and he WILL be into something he is not supposed to be. He also mimics things he watches us do.  For instance when Aly is dancing around the room he likes to dance with her.  He has watched me measuring things and writing numbers down or calling them out, so the other night we found him halfway up the stairs standing on a stool with the measuring tape.  He had it pulled out against the wall saying "9 9 6, 9 9 6, 9 9 6".  He is hilarious!! Today Chris came home for lunch and Owen took is flashlight and stuck it in the waist band of his pants and then took Chris' retractable baton "the beating stick" and held it out as he marched around the room saying "I go to work, I go to work". The other night Chris taught him to say "God created the stars".  So when I got home from work our conversation went like this.
Chris:  Owen tell mama who made the stars
Owen: God did
Me: That's right.  Owen what else did God make?
Owen:  Ice cream
The child is obsessed with sugar.  The other day he was eating something and looked up at me and said "It taste like sugar".  Chris is also teaching him to say "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. Genesis 1:1".  He is also teaching him "Who is your Shepherd?" and Owen says "God is".  I thank God everyday for the wonderful Godly husband he has given me. Together it is my hope and prayer that we will lead our children in the way of the Lord.   Well now that I have majorly drifted off of my original topic I will end it here.

The Princess

The princess and I made cookies today with the stuff Nan-naw gave her for Christmas.  Nan-naw and Paw-paw gave her 2 bags of sugar cookie mix, lots of cookie cutters, an apron, a spatula, her very own cookie sheet and a recipe box.  The little princess is always starving for attention.  Since her brother had company over and he was playing with him, I decided to have some much needed mother daughter time.  Though she can be trying at times, we had fun making lots of yummy valentine shaped cookies.  She even let Owen help decorate some of them (even though he ate more than he decorated).  We didn't start off to well though.  We had a little miss understanding at the beginning.  I told Aly to open the cookie mix and dump it in, (meaning the mixer bowl).  She thought she was supposed to dump it on the table, like you do the flour when your rolling the cookies out.  Chris and I found it quite funny, she however did not.  When I said something to her about it she thought I was yelling at her.  But despite a few messes and lots of spilled sprinkles, we managed to get all of the cookies decorated.  We made 52 small heart shaped cookies and 12 big heart shaped cookies.  They are very yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday afternoon at Nan-naw and Paw-paw's House

As I sat and watched the kids play outside I began to reflect on all of the wonderful things God has created.  Things we take for granted everyday.  Things like family, frogs, chickens, the eggs chickens lay, all the living growing things around us.  I immediately grabbed the camera and started taking pictures of some of God's great creations, including my beautiful children and family.  We serve an awesome God, and I thank Him everyday just for one more day to enjoy it all.  As the weather begins to warm I challenge you to take a look around you and see what all God has created.  The kids really enjoy playing outside at Nan-naw and Paw-paw's house, especially when the weather is nice outside like today.  Paw-paw has always been creative when it comes to things to play with.  It's always intersting to see what he is going to come up with.  Some of his creations today were a box pulled behind the four wheeler and a hamock made out of some rope and an old tablecloth.  The kids always have fun with his creations.  Owen wasn't sure if he liked being pulled in the box at first but he got lower and lower in the box (as if he were going to sleep) with every pass he made.  With Aly he first tried to pull her standing but she kept falling out of the box, she also kept falling out when she was on her knees.  When she sat in the box he was finally able to take off with her, and she screamed the entire time.  Then he made a make-shift hamock that she had fun playing in.  Even something as simple as the swings were fun.  Jaysen and Owen pretended to be superman "flying" in the swings.  All in all it was another wonderful day spent with the family.  However we once again missed Chris while he was working.

Sunny Days..........

Man today was a WONDERFUL day!  The 68 degree temperatures allowed us some much needed outside time.  Owen has been screaming to go outside and play, but it has been too cold or too wet.  Today was just right not too cold and not too hot, there was a nice breeze blowing and not a cloud in the sky.  The kids and I went outside and played in the backyard with the dogs. We stayed out there for almost 4 hours just enjoying the weather.  This wonderful weather reminds me of how awesome our God is.  The kids enjoyed playing on the swing set their Paw-paw built them several Christmases ago.  With a little imagination that swing set can be anything.  For Jaysen it was his fishing dock today.  He said, "I'm fishing for grass bass and limb brim mama".  He also said, "Today would be a good day for Paw-paw to take me fishing".  I told him yes but Nan-naw would kill him if he went fishing and didn't get her bedroom finished.  For Owen the swing was his way of becoming Superman.  He likes to take off running and land on his belly in the swing so he can "fly" like superman.  He also enjoyed "fishing" with his big bubba.  For Aly the swing set was something for her and her friend Carson to play on.  They didn't use imagination today, but they had fun anyway.  They like to take turns swinging each other.  All though Aly usually ends up getting to swing more than Carson.  The only thing or person should I say that could have made today better was Chris.  We missed him being here with us today, because he had to work.  But somebody has to keep our streets safe.  Well, as the kids are getting baths and everyone is winding down, I too am going to close this computer and enjoy the rest of this amazing day with my family.

100th Day of School

WOW, where has the time gone?  Have the kids really been in school 100 days already.  It seems like they just started back a few weeks ago.  Well, yesterday was the 100th day of school and Aly's school asked all the kids to dress up as if they were 100 years old.  Aly was excited and has been planning this day for months.  She had her Nan-naw fix a long skirt an apron and a shawl for her.  She also made her a bonnet and a cane out of a tree limb.  She made her daddy go to the Dollar store and buy her some glasses to wear. She got up yesterday morning without complaining and got dressed.  She had me fix her hair where it would stay under her bonnet.  She went off to school excited for everyone to see her outfit.  She was hoping her picture would make it into the yearbook but there was no one to take a picture for it.   But thats ok because I will post them on my blog for everyone to see.  She was so adorable.  She played the part quite well.
