Sunday afternoon at Nan-naw and Paw-paw's House

As I sat and watched the kids play outside I began to reflect on all of the wonderful things God has created.  Things we take for granted everyday.  Things like family, frogs, chickens, the eggs chickens lay, all the living growing things around us.  I immediately grabbed the camera and started taking pictures of some of God's great creations, including my beautiful children and family.  We serve an awesome God, and I thank Him everyday just for one more day to enjoy it all.  As the weather begins to warm I challenge you to take a look around you and see what all God has created.  The kids really enjoy playing outside at Nan-naw and Paw-paw's house, especially when the weather is nice outside like today.  Paw-paw has always been creative when it comes to things to play with.  It's always intersting to see what he is going to come up with.  Some of his creations today were a box pulled behind the four wheeler and a hamock made out of some rope and an old tablecloth.  The kids always have fun with his creations.  Owen wasn't sure if he liked being pulled in the box at first but he got lower and lower in the box (as if he were going to sleep) with every pass he made.  With Aly he first tried to pull her standing but she kept falling out of the box, she also kept falling out when she was on her knees.  When she sat in the box he was finally able to take off with her, and she screamed the entire time.  Then he made a make-shift hamock that she had fun playing in.  Even something as simple as the swings were fun.  Jaysen and Owen pretended to be superman "flying" in the swings.  All in all it was another wonderful day spent with the family.  However we once again missed Chris while he was working.

Sunny Days..........

Man today was a WONDERFUL day!  The 68 degree temperatures allowed us some much needed outside time.  Owen has been screaming to go outside and play, but it has been too cold or too wet.  Today was just right not too cold and not too hot, there was a nice breeze blowing and not a cloud in the sky.  The kids and I went outside and played in the backyard with the dogs. We stayed out there for almost 4 hours just enjoying the weather.  This wonderful weather reminds me of how awesome our God is.  The kids enjoyed playing on the swing set their Paw-paw built them several Christmases ago.  With a little imagination that swing set can be anything.  For Jaysen it was his fishing dock today.  He said, "I'm fishing for grass bass and limb brim mama".  He also said, "Today would be a good day for Paw-paw to take me fishing".  I told him yes but Nan-naw would kill him if he went fishing and didn't get her bedroom finished.  For Owen the swing was his way of becoming Superman.  He likes to take off running and land on his belly in the swing so he can "fly" like superman.  He also enjoyed "fishing" with his big bubba.  For Aly the swing set was something for her and her friend Carson to play on.  They didn't use imagination today, but they had fun anyway.  They like to take turns swinging each other.  All though Aly usually ends up getting to swing more than Carson.  The only thing or person should I say that could have made today better was Chris.  We missed him being here with us today, because he had to work.  But somebody has to keep our streets safe.  Well, as the kids are getting baths and everyone is winding down, I too am going to close this computer and enjoy the rest of this amazing day with my family.

100th Day of School

WOW, where has the time gone?  Have the kids really been in school 100 days already.  It seems like they just started back a few weeks ago.  Well, yesterday was the 100th day of school and Aly's school asked all the kids to dress up as if they were 100 years old.  Aly was excited and has been planning this day for months.  She had her Nan-naw fix a long skirt an apron and a shawl for her.  She also made her a bonnet and a cane out of a tree limb.  She made her daddy go to the Dollar store and buy her some glasses to wear. She got up yesterday morning without complaining and got dressed.  She had me fix her hair where it would stay under her bonnet.  She went off to school excited for everyone to see her outfit.  She was hoping her picture would make it into the yearbook but there was no one to take a picture for it.   But thats ok because I will post them on my blog for everyone to see.  She was so adorable.  She played the part quite well.

Little Owen!

My hope is that this post finds you all doing well.  Well my last post I shared with you that the boys had gone for their well checkups, and we found out that Owen had a sinus infection and has been on Cefzil for it.  Last night Owen started running a fever again, so we took him back to Dr. Smith today.  They did a strep test on him and it came back positive.  He is now on Amoxicillin for strep throat.  Please pray that he will start feeling better soon.  All he wants to do is drink, we can't get him to eat hardley anything.  This morning he ate 2 or 3 chips, and for dinner tonight he ate 3 small bites of macaroni and cheese.  As a mother I can't stand seeing him sick.  He has pretty much been sick ever since before Christmas.  He has had a cold and when he finally started getting better from that he ended up getting a sinus infection and now strep throat.  I wish I knew why he just want get better.  Well, my little warrior is crying for a tub-bub so I must go for now.
May God bless you each day,
Jennifer

The boys, Oh the boys!!!!!!!!!!

Well Chris took the boys for their well visits Monday and as everyone can see they are growing like weeds.  Jaysen has a cold and Owen has a sinus infection but for the most part everyone is doing well.  Both of the boys are in the 98% for height.  Dr Smith did some calculation based on mine and Chris' height and said Owen will be like 6ft 1in.  He didn't do a calculation for Jaysen but said that he would be tall as well.  Jaysen was a little over weight for his age and height but Dr Smith wasn't too concerned.  He did say Jaysen had the potential to be a good football player and that he would like to see him start working out with weights.  Of course this made Jaysen happy because he has been wanting to work out lately.  Owen on the other hand is below the BMI that he should be even for his height, but Dr Smith wasn't concerned yet.  The boy could wear an 18 month pants if he wasn't so tall.  He really needs a 3T for his height but they fall off in the waist.  He loves to eat fruit and veggies sometimes you can get him to eat meat but not always.  Both of the boys had to have immunizations.  Owen had to have 4.  He did fine he cried for a minute but that was all, he is my brave little warrior.  My big warrior on the other hand proceeded to tell them that he was not getting any shots unless his mama was there (he is truly a mamas boy).  They won out however and he got 2 shots and did fine with them.  Aly told on us about letting Owen have a pacifier and Dr Smith said he wanted it gone by the end of this week.  Well we will see how that goes.  I don't have much to report on Aly at the moment but she is my little princess.  Well I better go for now it's time for the little warrior to go to bed.

Blessings from the Lord above!

Children are truly a BLESSING from God, and I have been blessed with three amazing ones.  Jaysen Marshell 11 years old, Jessica Alyse 7 years old and the baby Owen Scott 2 years old.  I wish I had started this blog after my first child was born, but unfortunately I didn't.  There are so many precious memories in our day to day living that I don't want to forget.  My hope is that you will enjoy the journey of life and parenthood (and all the crazy stuff in between) with us as I try to document at least most of it.  I hope to post pictures from Christmas and various other activities in the coming days.
